Teacher of February

Holly Kelley

Most teachers don’t have the opportunity to have real world experience in the field they work in. Holly Kelley, Sterling High School’s family and consumers science teacher, has experience in catering and cake decorating as she was in 4-H when she was younger.

Kelley has only had the opportunity to teach at SHS for one year, but has been a family and consumer science teacher for eight years. Upon being asked what her number one reason for wanting to be a teacher her reply was “I enjoy getting to watch kids learn new things.” Kelley has no one favorite food to cook with her students. On Kelley’s free time she likes to cook foreign food. If Kelley was not a teacher she sees herself working as a real estate agent.

Outside of school, Kelley enjoys playing with her kids and traveling. On her trips she enjoys going snorkeling if she gets the chance. The coolest place Kelley has got the opportunity to visit is Hawaii. She has two dogs name Rosie and Izzy. Her favorite food is Mexican. A fact the students may not know about Kelley is that she was a cheerleader in high school
