Sterling High School’s very own Special Olympics Basketball team made it to state coming out with a gold medal and a state champion title.
Megan McQuown, one of the advisors for the special needs children, stated, “There were about three to four teams that made it to state. Out of my 12 years of teaching, our team has made it to state 10 times.”
McQuown also expressed, “I feel pretty good about their team. It makes them happy so I am happy.”
