Golf; Hole in One

Sterling’s 2017 golf season was a huge success according to the competitors I interviewed for this piece, there were also some great moments shared between teammates.I asked Trey Kuntz how his season went “it went good, I made varsity as a freshman.” This was an accomplishment he seemed very proud of.

I also asked Trey what his favorite memory of the season was, “Going to state, a fun experience, and being with the seniors that helped me out through the whole thing.”

I asked him what are you looking forward to next season, he said: “Improving and trying to go state as a team, but 4 of the 5 seniors will be gone”

I also asked these players what their favorite memory from this season was, and Joel  Kenny’s memory was by far my favorite. “I feel of the golf cart when my clubs fell out and I jumped to save them.”

Braden Lambrecht’s best memory from the season was shooting the lowest score in Sterling High School history, you could tell by the way he spoke about it, it was a massive achievement for him.

While Josh Kenny’s favorite memory of the season was watching a fellow teammate getting taken off a bus for ineligibility halfway throughout the trip at a gas station. Josh was also asked what he was excited for next season, he said: “I’m excited to improve personally and make more memories with the boys. He seemed to be very amused recounting this moment.

The golf boys had an amazing year breaking records and making memories, I am personally excited to see how next season shakes out, several players went to state and Braden Lambrecht broke the school’s record for the lowest score shot, this season seemed to truly be a hole in one!
